Jewelry lovers know the ideal proportions of Swarovski crystals, their intriguing transparency and absolute color identity. The unique processing of the material is the result of improving the technology invented in 1890 by the Austrian engineer and founder of the empire, Daniel Swarovski, who was born in the north of mountain Bohemia - the birthplace of the famous Bohemian crystal.

The technological composition of the initial mixtures for the manufacture of high quality stones is still a secret of the manufacturer and is kept secret. Due to their beauty and iridescent shine, which manifests itself from different angles of view, Swarovski crystal crystals have long been regarded as an alternative to precious stones and diamonds.
Products with Swarovski crystals are so popular that sometimes under the guise of real stones the buyer is offered to purchase their imitation of dubious quality. Paying attention to a number of product features, we can highlight some differences between the original and the fake:

1. There are no air bubbles inside a real crystal.
2. The brilliance of a real crystal far exceeds that of a fake. Oil shine indicates imitation.
3. All original crystals are the same in size.
4. Crystals of the same effect code family are identical.
5. There are no scratches on the surface of the real crystal.
6. The edges of the crystal faces have a single intersection point.

7. The holes in the crystals have the shape of a circle, are exactly the same and are located exactly in the center.

Original stones are always sold in their original packaging, which shows the Swarovski logo, graphic appearance and crystal code, the name of the effect code, the number of crystals in the box, a QR code (it can be checked with a special program for a smartphone), a bar code. The crystals in the box are located in special cells, separated from each other by partitions.

On the reverse side, the box is sealed with a special sticker:

The brand does not produce goods without documents, but the lack of a certificate for stones does not always mean that they are fake. However, the presence of a certificate does not guarantee the authenticity of the crystals, it is no secret to anyone - today you can buy any paper. Therefore, I recommend paying attention to the seller and to the distinctive features of stones in products, I wrote about them at the beginning of the article.

An interesting question is the cost of finished jewelry using Swarovski crystals. Can they cost less than jewelry made directly by the manufacturer? Of course, stones to a third-party manufacturer are more expensive, because he buys them with a mark-up. Silver, purchased by another manufacturer for the manufacture of frames, differs slightly in price from silver used by Swarovski. But taking into account the cost of renting industrial premises in developed and developing countries, the cost of labor in Austria and, for example, Ukraine, the rental rate for retail premises in the center of Vienna and the absence of a rental component at the same Ukrainian online store, the answer is obvious. The cost of making jewelry with Swarovski stones, and with it the final price of the jewelry, can vary significantly depending on who makes them and where they sell them.
